Senior Graphic Designer
Bangalore, Karnataka
Work Type: Permanent
We are looking for a highly experienced Graphic Designer to anchor the leadership layer of our Creative Services team. This is a pivotal role acting as the operational backbone of a multi-discipline studio delivering design, image editing, and video production output across a portfolio of regional and international brand clients.
The ideal candidate brings 6–10 years of experience across creative production, workflow management, and team leadership. You will own end-to-end process across all three discipline tracks — guiding a team of senior and junior creatives, ensuring quality and on-time delivery, and serving as the day-to-day decision-maker when the Head is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Operations Leadership
• Own and continuously improve the end-to-end creative workflow across design, image editing, and video production tracks.
• Manage resource planning, brief allocation, and workload distribution across all team members and brand accounts.
• Establish and enforce briefing standards, quality checkpoints, and delivery processes to reduce errors and rework.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement process improvements that raise throughput without compromising quality.
• Maintain organised asset libraries, naming conventions, and file management systems across the studio.
Team Leadership & People Development
• Act as the day-to-day lead for a team of 10 across three discipline tracks — designers, image editors, and a video editor.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for all briefs, revisions, and delivery challenges before they reach the Head of Creative Services.
• Provide structured mentoring and performance feedback to junior team members, particularly the junior image editors.
• Bridge the gap between senior specialists and junior staff — translating standards into actionable guidance and training.
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative studio culture built on accountability, clear communication, and continuous improvement.
• Support onboarding of new team members, embedding process standards and brand guidelines from day one.
Quality Control & Brand Compliance
• Review and approve creative output across all disciplines before final client delivery, ensuring accuracy and brand compliance.
• Maintain zero critical errors on client-facing deliverables across all assigned brand accounts.
• Define and uphold quality benchmarks for static design, image editing, and video production output.
• Identify recurring quality issues and introduce systemic fixes rather than relying on individual correction.
• Ensure all output meets platform specifications, client brand guidelines, and agreed technical requirements.
Senior Leadership Backup
• Act as operational backup — capable of making independent day-to-day decisions when the Head is unavailable.
• Hold sufficient cross-discipline knowledge to manage escalations, client conversations, and delivery decisions across all three tracks.
• Represent the Creative Services team in internal stakeholder meetings and creative reviews where required.
• Support video production (Video Editor) during high-demand periods or absences.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination • Collaborate with brand managers, account managers, and internal stakeholders to translate campaign requirements into clear, actionable briefs.
• Manage revision cycles across multiple concurrent brand accounts, maintaining delivery timelines and output quality throughout.
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders on capacity, timelines, and any risks to delivery.
• Participate in creative review sessions, articulating process decisions and quality rationale clearly.
Design Output Oversight • Provide process oversight and quality control on marketing design output produced by the design support resource (Prasun), who has absorbed additional scope.
• Ensure brand and campaign consistency across all design deliverables, including social media creatives, digital ads, banners, and emailers.
• Coordinate design workload across the track to balance capacity and maintain consistent output standards.
AI & Automation Capability • Understanding of AI-assisted creative workflows and automation tools.
• Ability to identify and implement process automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Familiarity with AI tools for creative production, QC, reporting, and workflow management.
• Proactive approach towards integrating scalable AI and automation solutions within creative operations.
Key Success Metrics Success in this role will be measured by: • Consistent on-time delivery across all three discipline tracks with zero critical quality failures.
• Measurable reduction in briefing errors, revision cycles, and rework through improved process standards.
• Demonstrated improvement in junior team member capability through structured mentoring and feedback.
• Ability to confidently delegate operational decision-making to this role.
• Sustained brand compliance and client satisfaction scores across all assigned accounts.
• A studio culture where escalation paths are clear, workloads are balanced, and quality is owned at every level.
Qualifications & Skills • 6–10 years of experience in creative operations, studio management, production management, or a related creative leadership role.
• Seniority at or above senior specialist level — capable of commanding respect from experienced designers and video editors while managing junior staff.
• Proven track record of owning end-to-end creative workflows in a high-volume, multi-brand studio or agency environment.
• Strong cross-discipline understanding across graphic design, image editing, and video/motion production — depth in at least two.
• Experience managing resource allocation, brief intake, quality review processes, and delivery timelines across concurrent projects.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior and mid-level creatives through structured feedback and hands-on coaching.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills — able to manage client expectations, run creative reviews, and represent the team externally.
• Highly organised, process-driven, and calm under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-heavy environment.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) — practitioner-level preferred.
Must have • Demonstrable experience owning a creative studio’s operational workflow — not just contributing to it.
• Evidence of mentoring or leading a team of creative specialists and juniors simultaneously.
• The confidence and seniority to act as decision-maker in the absence of the Head of department.
Why Join Squared Circle • A genuine leadership role with operational authority — not a senior individual contributor with a lead title.
• Direct line to the Head of Creative Services, with real scope to shape how the studio runs.
• Work with leading regional and international brands across a diverse and growing portfolio.
• Be the person who builds the team’s process maturity from the ground up — real ownership, real impact.
• A fast-growing creative services company with a collaborative culture and strong appetite for operational excellence.
